SEN Support Assistant – Huddersfield (HD5)

Daily Rate: £90–£100/day | Contract: Full-time, long-term | Start Date: September 2025

We are recruiting SEN Support Assistants to work in a Huddersfield specialist provision, supporting pupils with additional learning needs. This role is ideal for experienced TAs, support workers, or graduates seeking a rewarding career in education.

About the role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons

  • Use positive behaviour strategies to create a safe, structured environment

  • Support pupils with personal, social, and emotional development

  • Encourage independence and build strong, supportive relationships

We welcome applications from:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants

  • Individuals with school-based experience OR care/support work backgrounds

  • Psychology, education, or related graduates looking to gain hands-on SEN experience

  • Candidates with a full UK driving licence (desirable for flexibility across sites)

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, school hours)

  • Empathy, resilience, and strong communication skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
