Autism Support Assistant – Wakefield

Daily Rate: £90–£105/day | Contract: Short-term / Long-term supply | Start: Immediate

We are recruiting an Autism Support Assistant to work 1:1 with pupils across Wakefield SEN provisions. The pupils have high-functioning autism and benefits from clear structure, visual supports, and patient, consistent interaction.

You will:

• Provide academic and emotional support throughout the school day

• Use strategies to reduce anxiety and help with transitions

• Work with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor progress

• Communicate regularly with parents and carers

Full training in autism awareness and classroom strategies available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
