A full time position for a SEN teaching assistant within a special school located in Oldham. A specialist school in Oldham are currently seeking a teaching assistant to work within a KS3 class supporting the ongoing development of pupils with SEN.
Initially, the position is temporary for the first school term September – October 2017; however there could potentially be a permanent position dependent on the need of the school.
In its most recent 2014 school inspection the school was graded as ‘outstanding’ with OFTSED commenting ‘this school goes from strength to strength and high quality performance has been maintained over a lengthy period’. The school provides education for pupils with complex and severe learning difficulties.
The ideal teaching assistant will have experience working within a special school environment and be aware of strategies that are effective in assuring the inclusion of pupils with SEN. It would also be beneficial for the teaching assistant to have experience of delivering targeted interventions to pupils with SEN. However, this experience is not essential as long as the teaching assistant can demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN.
The ideal teaching assistant will have:
- A level 2 teaching assistant (Desirably level 3)
- Team- teach qualification (desirable)
- An in-depth understanding of the importance of inclusion
- A genuine commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with SEN
If you are a teaching assistant with a considerable amount of experience with working with SEN and feel that you have the appropriate skills and qualifications to succeed in the role send an up to date CV to kelsie.wall@teachingpersonnel.com
