EYFS Teaching Assistant with SEN experience needed for larger than average primary school based in Bury (M45)

I am working closely with a partner primary school located in the Bury (M45) area. The Head Teacher needs a teaching assistant to work with a child with severe learning difficulties in the EYFS department. The school has had a large intake of pupils in the EYFS department with a number of pupils with Special Educational Needs. It is essential that the ideal candidate has experience working with SEN pupils previously.

The role of the Teaching Assistant will be to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with severe learning difficulties. The child has been struggling to access the National Curriculum and is also struggling with his speech, language and fine motor skills. The TA will be working with the child in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis to support the pupil's needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous SEN or SEMH experience
  • Strong knowledge of using PECS
  • Experience utilizing SEN and behavioural strategies for structured learning

This primary school has been graded 'Good' by its previous Ofsted inspection and is averaged sized. The primary school has a very close connection to the local community and has a strong focus on creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
