We’re looking for a caring, patient, and proactive SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, inclusive primary school in Hedge End. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by providing tailored support that helps pupils thrive both academically and personally.
Your role and responsibilities
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated, personalised support for a pupil with special educational needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted strategies and interventions.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual learning goals.
- Encourage confidence, independence, and social development in every activity.
- Support classroom inclusion and promote positive behaviour through empathy and consistency.
- Contribute to a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment.

- Experienced or confident in supporting children with SEN, particularly on a 1:1 basis.
- Patient, understanding, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Able to follow learning and behaviour plans with care and consistency.
- Flexible and proactive in responding to individual needs throughout the school day.
- A great communicator who works well as part of a team.
- Passionate about helping every child succeed, no matter their starting point.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
