Job description

We are looking for outgoing and resilient individuals to fit into a Youth Worker position starting in September 2018. The position will require successful applicants to manage and engage young children and adults with Challenging Behaviour in their education.

The school caters to individuals aged between 11 - 16 years old, with a variety of complex social and emotional needs. The school has improved significantly in recent years, achieved through a positive team ethos that has pupil's needs at the heart of everything they do.

Traditionally successful candidates have experience in two or more of the following bullet points:

  • Youth/Community work
  • Criminology
  • Psychology
  • Care (career or personal)
  • Special Education Needs
  • Autism
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Mentoring
  • Teaching Assistant

This position will operate between 8.30am and 3.30pm, Monday-Friday. The requirement of new Teaching Assistants/Youth Workers will be to engage with students on a 1:1 and small group basis. This position will be challenging, yet rewarding, as candidates will be able to positively the lives and education of young and vulnerable individuals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
