Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a number of SEN Schools and Alternative Provisions, which are over subscribed and are receiving new referrals, which are based in North Yorkshire. We are seeking to recruit a Specialist Teaching Assistant to commence on a supply basis in October 2019, or January 2020.

The Schools:

A range of provisions that cater for EYFS to Key Stage 5 aged pupils in a range of provisions that are graded as 'Good' by Ofsted in recent inspections. The schools are consistently over subscribed with a number of pupils requesting transfers from other units and applications from across the region coming in in each year. In terms of the support system that is in place, the SLT are on hand to answer any queries and help to support you in furthering your career within education.

The Position:

The ideal candidate will have a background in Youth Support/Services coupled with some classroom based experience, ideally in a Behaviour or SEN School. You will be expected to provide 1:1 and General Classroom support to students with SEMH on a part time or full time basis from October Half Term.

Responsibilities include:

• Chaperone around school both in and out of classroom
• Provide social and emotional support to the pupils
• Identify and de-escalate behavioural issues
• Help the pupils integrate safely into social situations
• Build positive relationships with the pupils
• Help build confidence and raise self esteem
