Teaching Assistant Required to provide Behaviour Support within specialist SEN School

• Experience of supporting pupils on a 1:1 or group basis
• Evidence of de-escalating challenging behaviour
• Able to effectively implement EHCP

Teaching Personnel are seeking a behaviour support worker for a role in a specialist SEN School in Wetherby. The school provides alternative education for pupils aged 2-19, all of whom have a diagnosed Special Educational Need and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to meet their needs.

You role will be to provide targeted intervention for pupils within the secondary base (KS3 & KS4) who may display aggression and exhibit challenging behaviour. These behaviour needs are secondary to the pupils SEN diagnoses of Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), so an understanding of the underlying issues is paramount. You will be calm and resilient and may also possess a valid Team Teach certificate or equivalent BILD accredited training.
