SEN Primary Teaching Assistants Required

My client is looking for Teaching Assistants to support in the educational and social development of students referred to the KS1 and KS2 intervention service. In addition to this you will work alongside mainstream schools on effective reintegration and supporting the work of outside agencies involved with families.

Successful candidates will be expected to fully endorse and support the inclusive and aspirational ethos of the school through high expectations of staff and students, role modelling behaviours and attitudes to learning and successful management of intensive behaviour programs alongside support for staff in developing a wide range of effective skills in behaviour modification.

Experience & Knowledge:

• Experience of working with disaffected students with emotional and behavioural difficulties and promoting appropriate outcomes

• Understanding of engagement techniques to encourage students to focus on learning and development.

• Evidence of effectively working with families and with multi-agency teams to support young people.

• Knowledge of the Education Health Care Plan procedures and processes.

• Knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidance about alterative provision, safeguarding, inclusion, equal opportunities and special educational needs.

Skills & Abilities:

• GCSE A*- C grades or equivalent (essential)

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Good team player.

• Ability to find solutions to problems promoting consistency and sharing in the vision.

• Resilience, perseverance and enthusiasm.

• High level of emotional intelligence

• Competent ICT skills

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
