- Exciting opportunity to work 1:1 with Looked After Pupil
Teaching Personnel are looking for a tutor to work 1:1 with a Year 10 male Looked After student in the Retford area (DN22).
We are looking for a tutor to support this student on a sessional basis for as many hours as the suitable candidate has available (ideally 3-4 hours). The student is 14 years old and is currently on bail for presenting with challenging behaviour. Therefore the candidate will need to be extremely confident to manage challenging behaviour. You will NOT be working in isolation and a risk assessment will be provided to ensure the safety and welfare of the student and tutor.
The ideal candidate for this role will be:
• Extremely confident and experienced working with challenging behaviour for pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
• Confident to work on a 1:1 basis with a student who may be very disengaged from education
• Able to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that progress is tracked on a regular basis
• Someone who can act as a positive role model to help the student re-engage with his education.
• Someone who is able to boost self-esteem as well as help the student to make academic progress
• Someone who is confident to plan and deliver the work independently, in addition to tracking and monitoring progress through weekly feedback reports sent to the schools and to Teaching Personnel
• Able to support the student with a transition into mainstream education once a school placement has been identified
• Able to effectively liaise with foster carers and manage a weekly diary accordingly.
For additional information about this role, please contact Emma Gale on 0115 8456405 as soon as possible.
Many thanks – I look forward to hearing from you.
