We are seeking to appoint a qualified English Teacher who can work with young people who are looked after, and ideally a teacher with additional experience of working within a residential specialist school.

Our client is an independent SEMH/ASC provision that caters for young people from the age of 11 to 16 years. Other needs include ADHD, moderate learning difficulties and communication/sensory needs.

Job Role:

  • To plan, deliver and assess outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable pupils with any need to learn and develop
  • Take on the role of class tutor, ensuring that pastoral needs are met and to simultaneously establish excellent relationships with pupils as well as parents/carers
  • Manage a team of support assistants/learning support assistants
  • Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues parents and other professionals
  • Build team commitment with colleagues
  • Adhere to all working protocols as agreed by the school
  • Engage in whole school activities as required by the school Headteacher
  • Plan and lead children in all enrichment activities
  • Ensure you uphold all safeguarding procedures

Needs: SEMH, ASC, ADHD, MLD.

Location: Bury

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
