SEMH Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
- Are you versatile, robust and the type of individual to think on your feet?
- Have you got experience with challenging behaviour?
- Are you looking to make a positive impact on challenging pupils?
Teaching Personnel work closely with a pupil referral unit in Carmarthenshire and have been approached to find an experienced teacher to fill the vacancy.
You would need to be able to differentiate your work on a daily basis to help engage the pupils in the work and you may be needed in a variety of different classes.
The school caters for students who have been excluded or are in the process of being excluded and require additional support.
You must have experience supporting students who can display very challenging behaviour however; this does not have to be in a school-based environment. Teaching Personnel also recruit candidates who have undertaken youth work, supported young offenders or those at risk of re-offending and those who have worked in secure or medical units. You must have the ability to build a rapport with a non-judgemental attitude and be passionate about improving the lives of young people.
The classes are smaller than mainstream and you’ll have the support of several TA’s so you will have a really strong opportunity to positively change a child’s life.
The ideal candidate will be willing to work on a supply basis initially whilst we seek a longer term opportunity for you. The school are known to appoint candidates on a longer term basis. However, longer term opportunities usually arise quickly for those candidates who show initiative, are proactive and receive positive feedback from their supply assignments.
If you’re interested please send a copy of your CV to christopher.hancock@teachingpersonnel.com or call 01792 473 300 to discuss the role in more detail.
I look forward to hearing from you!
