We are looking for a Fully Qualified Teacher to become part of an amazing team in Newham. The school you will be working with has a specialist PMLD unit within the academy. The unit looks after 25 students all of whom have profound, severe and multiple learning difficulties. There is a phenomenal team supporting Key stage 3 and 4 students within the unit who help one another and work cohesively as a team which you could be part of!

The unit caters to KS3-KS4 students with:

  • Physical complex needs and Profound multiple learning difficulties
  • Autism
  • Downs syndrome
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Angelmans Syndrome

Teachers applying for this position must have:

  • Experience supporting service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids e.g. hoists, wheelchairs, modified bathing equipment.
  • Diagnose seizures and support service users during a seizure, administering emergency medication if needed.
  • Manual handling training
  • Personal care
  • Experience working with students with profound, severe and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
  • Experience working with adults with special educational needs
