Secondary Supply Teachers & Cover Supervisors
Job description
Secondary Supply Teachers & Cover Supervisors | Brighton & Surrounding Areas
How would you like your working week to look?
Whether you’re looking for regular classroom work, occasional bookings or flexibility around other commitments, I’m interested in hearing from you.
I’m expanding my network of Secondary Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors across Brighton and the surrounding areas for the 2026/27 academic year.
Supply Teachers
I’m looking for qualified teachers across secondary subject areas, including ECTs, experienced teachers and those returning after a break.
You’ll generally need QTS or an appropriate equivalent.
Bookings can include general cover, teaching within your specialism and longer-term assignments. You can experience different schools and build familiarity with settings you enjoy.
Cover Supervisors
You don’t need QTS to work as a Cover Supervisor.
You’ll generally supervise lessons using work prepared by the school, explain tasks, maintain classroom expectations and help pupils stay engaged.
Relevant experience could come from sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, mentoring or other roles leading groups of young people. Graduates considering teaching are welcome to get in touch too.
Availability that works for you
You tell me the days you’re available and where you can travel, and I’ll look for suitable bookings.
Some work is arranged in advance. Other bookings come through that morning, with schools contacting me from around 6:30am, occasionally earlier. If you prefer pre-booked work, let me know.
Where possible, I’ll look to get you back into schools you enjoy and build on positive relationships with their teams.
Day-to-day supply fluctuates and work isn’t guaranteed. If you need more consistent hours, we can discuss longer-term opportunities.
Driving helps open up more schools, but it isn’t essential.
The practical details
You’ll need an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service. If you don’t currently hold one, you’ll need to apply through us and join the Update Service. I’ll support you through the process, with the associated cost covered by the applicant.
We’ll also require your full employment and education history and references covering 24 months of employment in total where possible, prioritising recent and relevant employment.
Interested?
Apply and tell me about your experience, availability and travel preferences.
