Science Teacher

Job description

The head of a client PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) Based in Newport is looking for a Science teacher to join their faculty after Christmas. The successful candidate must be willing to go in into the school for a meeting with the head and a walk around the school this side of term to know the staff and get familiar with the curriculum set. The school will be offering double award science for the first time to make sure all pupils are able to achieve a core subject.

The pupils that attend the school may be diagnosed with autism or co-existing conditions including ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, Tourette’s syndrome, epilepsy and or challenging behaviour.

Ideally, the successful applicant will be a science specialist with good knowledge across all aspects taught at GCSE level. The role is full time and will initially be trialled in January. The school are looking to take the teacher onto a permanent contract should they perform well in the role

  • Pay rate GBPGBP138.56 - GBPGBP180.00 per day, depending on experience

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a secondary school environment and will be able to display excellent behavioural management.
