Science Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working with an 'Outstanding' client secondary school located in Wigan, supporting them with the recruitment of two Science teachers for positions that are available in January.

Due to a planned absence, this school require a Biology teacher to cover a maternity leave ahead of January 2019. The school also have an open vacancy available to any Chemistry teachers looking for an introduction to their next post following a member of staff gaining promotion.

This is a rare opportunity to work within a Ofsted graded 'Outstanding' school that achieved the best results within the Wigan LEA last academic year.

Chemistry teacher

  • Full time Chemistry teacher post from January 2019
  • Chemistry specialist required to cover initially for one term (January 2019 - Easter 2019)
  • Permanent opportunity available due to the nature of this gap
  • Teaching all areas of Science to KS3 level and GCSE Chemistry
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS experience dependent (£100 - £150 per day)

Biology teacher

  • Full time Biology teacher post from January 2019
  • Biology teacher required to cover maternity leave - 12 months
  • Teaching all areas of Science to KS3 level and GCSE Biology
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS experience dependent (£100 - £150 per day)

Science teachers wishing to be considered for these posts are required to be comfortable teaching all areas of KS3 Science as well as their specialism area to GCSE level. The Headteacher seeks to appoint Science teachers who are able to challenge the learning of all pupils and positively impact attainment and consistently deliver high quality teaching.

Located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre close to Appley Bridge, the school is oversubscribed and attracts a number of students from the local primary schools. Graded outstanding across all Ofsted criteria, the school has an excellent reputation and is the ideal workplace for any teacher.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
