Science teacher

Job description

Our client RC Secondary school in the Salford region of Greater Manchester require a teacher of Science on a temporary basis to cover an upcoming maternity leave.

This position will initially cover a two term period from January 2018; however this may be subject to extension into the new academic year due to the nature of the post.

  • Full time temporary Science position, January 2018 start
  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science across the ability range
  • Full departmental responsibilities, opportunities for collaborative planning
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (Daily pay up to £150 per day)
  • Located in Swinton, near to the M60 Motorway, accessible via public transportation links.

"We wish to appoint a teacher of Science to join our faculty after the Christmas period. This position is suitable for experienced and newly qualified teachers with any specialism - Chemistry, Biology and Physics. The main responsibility of this role will be Key Stage Three with a small proportion of GCSE teaching. The appointed Science teacher will be expected to follow and adhere to the ethos and values of our school whilst delivering high quality inclusive lessons." - Head Teacher

The large RC Secondary school has over 1,000 pupils on roll along with a large Sixth Form centre. With recent refurbishments to the building, the Science department now have state of the art facilities to ensure lessons are diverse and engaging. The school excel in achieving grades above the national average in Science each academic year and have achieved a Progress 8 Score of +0.06.
