Science Teacher
Tameside based secondary school looking to appoint a Science Teacher on a full-time basis for 1 term initially, starting after Easter 2021.
The position on offer is full time and temporary, initially lasting for 1 term but the school have advised us that the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make the position permanent at the beginning of the new academic year in September 2021.
The candidate successful in their application will be teaching Science to students in years 7-11 which will include GCSE students. The school has a dedicated and bustling science department, including a subject leader, who will allow the successful candidate to slot into life teaching at the school with ease. The school itself prides itself on its unshakeable ethos of providing support and commitment to the community, and so this position will be a good fit for candidates with a passion for giving back to their locality and providing the best standard of teaching possible. Despite this, the school is currently operating with an Ofsted Report rating of ‘Inadequate’ and recent Progress 8 scores of ‘Well Below Average’, meaning prospective candidates should have a passion for and experience in raising students attainment and helping struggling children achieve their best.
The schools location means that this opportunity is ideal for a candidate who can drive with access to their own car, though for any candidates wishing to utilise public transport Hyde North station is a relatively short 0.8 mile walk from the school.
Some of the highlights of this Science teaching opportunity:
- Community focused secondary school in Tameside
- Full time, temporary position until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate
- Paid using the Teachers Pay Scale (MPS-UPS)
- Diverse location with access by both car and public transport
Requirements to be considered for this role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- School based references
- Experience teaching Science to GCSE level
- In date fully enhanced DBS certificate/ eligibility to apply for one
