Science Technician – Secondary Schools
Location: West Bromwich & Birmingham
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £110–£150 per day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Science Technicians to support a number of welcoming secondary schools across West Bromwich and Birmingham from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in the Science department, supporting practical lessons, preparing equipment and helping to create an engaging learning environment for students.
Whether you're an experienced Science Technician or have relevant laboratory experience and a passion for education, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Science Technician, you'll be responsible for:
- Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
- Maintaining laboratories and ensuring equipment is clean, organised and ready for use.
- Supporting teachers during practical experiments where required.
- Managing stock levels and ordering resources.
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed within the Science department.
- Helping to create an engaging and safe learning environment for students.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or working within a laboratory environment is desirable.
- Experience working in UK secondary schools would be highly advantageous.
- A good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A proactive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people and education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
