SATs intervention support staff

A Primary school in the Manchester, M20 region is looking for an intervention support staff to help support the current Year 6 class in the lead up to their exams. Teaching Personnel is helping the school recruit potential candidates for the role in order to help obtain the best possible candidate for the school and class.

The role would involve taking small groups of children that differentiate. Sometimes it will be offering support for the lower achieving pupils whereas other times it will be with the higher achieving pupils and the average achieving pupils. The small groups will contain around 4/5 pupils and will involve helping them with their Maths, Writing and Reading so they are prepared as best as possible for the fast approaching SATs.

The 2 form school has been described as having "enthusiastic learners who were ready to discuss their work and could reflect well on what they do." As well as this all staff have excellent relationships with pupils and challenging behaviour Is not such a big issue in this particular school.

The role would be a temporary role until the end of the academic year. However the school is keen to appoint someone in a permanent position if they are a good fit for the pupils and the school and of course if the school is a good fit for the teaching assistant.

The school is looking to have this role filled after the Easter break or as close to the date as possible to give the pupils as much time as they can with the support.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
