I am seeking to appoint a caring, highly motivated, experienced person to join a Residential team of school professionals working with learners with a wide range of complex needs; including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, medical needs and autism.

This SEN school is an outstanding special school for pupils aged 3-19 years, with a fantastic purpose-built school building currently providing for 222 pupils. They have a new residential facility, in two blocks working closely alongside the school.

The Residential Education Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating joint working across the school, residential and home and with all partners, to meet the educational, emotional and physical needs of the young people and planning for positive outcomes. We are looking for applicants with significant experience of working in a children's provision (school, residential or respite) and demonstrating the highest commitment to improving the lives of young people and their parents/carers.

You will:

· have experience in understanding life from each individual learner's point of view, and in designing a curriculum to meet individual needs and recognise strengths and potential in young people.

· have significant experience of working with young people with SLD, ASC, PMLD and complex behavioural needs in an educational or residential child care setting.

· be self-motivated and committed to making a positive difference for young people with additional needs and disabilities, and their families.

· be outstanding at forming positive relationships and strengthening key partnerships, and demonstrate a reflective practice in considering what learners and families need.

· be a highly skilled communicator with experience of supporting, leading and supervising others, able to resolve problems and deputise for the Residential Care Manager.

. be responsive to a wide range of communication from young people including what their behaviours are telling us.

· be positive, resourceful, innovative and able to embrace change.

· have a firm understanding of child protection and safeguarding, and of the National Minimum Standards for Residential Special Schools.

This is a full-time role to be worked on a hours contract. The residential provision will be occupied from Monday to Thursday nights, term-time only. Candidates must have the flexibility to accommodate a working pattern according to the needs of the provision - including night awake shifts and being on call.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
