Psychology graduates, Teaching Assistant - needed NOW

Are you a Psychology graduate who aspires to work in education and support children overcome barriers to learning?

Perhaps you have another degree subject, and have experience of working with children who display challenging behaviour?

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a position within a large New Forest primary school supporting pupils with behaviour needs within KS2.

The successful applicant will be committed to supporting possibly up to a term and will then be given the opportunity to apply for the post permanently.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within a driven and supportive team, and will be allocated a mentor in order to train them up as a successful KS2 graduate teaching assistant.

This is a great opportunity for those with aspirations to teach and will strengthen any teacher training application.

This successful school is focused on utilising graduate talent and is particularly keen to meet with those with aspirations to teach. This forward-thinking school welcome new ideas, and actively encourage innovative teaching and learning styles.

You will require some previous experience working with children but not necessarily within a classroom environment. Applicants who have experience supporting children with SEN would also be encouraged to apply.

To be eligible to apply for this role you will need:

  • Transferable experience supporting children - not necessarily within a classroom
  • Strong academic background in order to raise attainment and carry out interventions * Experience and knowledge of SEN desired
  • A positive and passionate approach to children's education
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • The ability to deliver fun and activities in line with the national curriculum
