Teaching Personnel are looking for Primary School Tutors who are able to work on a flexible basis at various schools across Derby, providing tuition for vulnerable pupils and low attaining pupils to her narrow the gap in learning lost during the COVID Lockdown. Teaching Personnel are an approved National Tutoring Programme provider and are looking for Tutors for catch-up.
Additionally, we are looking for Primary specialist Tutors to work 1:1 with disengaged anbd vulnerable pupils who are either Looked After or have Special Educational Needs, and are not currently in school placements. These children will require both academic and pastoral support while a new school place is sought.

- Start date – ASAP
- Location – Derby and Derbyshire
- Pay rate - GBP15 - GBP25 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Temporary contracts with schools and for pupils without a current school provision
- Flexible hours both online and in school or residential/foster placements
- Working with pupils from EYFS - Year 6
In order to apply to be a Teaching Personnel Primary Tutor, you must have the following:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recent Graduate with an educational based degree and experience as a Tutor
- Availability to work on a flexible hourly basis (ideally we require tutors to have a minimum of 2 hours every day avaialable with flexible timings)
- Ability to be able to complete 20 hours of online CPD through Teaching Personnels CPD partner
- In date Level 2 Safeguarding (Teaching Personnel can provide this if needed)
- Able to complete online attainment records and pupil progress reports
- 6 years of relevant career history and education history
- 2 graded references from two most recent employers
- Valid DBS and update service registered or, willing to do this through Teaching Personnel
- Ability and willingness to deliver tuition remotely and online
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting children to push their attainment to the next level both in school and online
- Supporting vulnerable pupils with complex needs and some challenging behaviour
- Being creative and using innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience of all pupils
- Assessing progress and maintaining discipline at all times
- Welfare and safeguarding of each pupil
