Are you on the lookout for a new challenge for January 2020? Do you have experience supporting lower attaining children across the primary phase and are seeking an opportunity to utilise this? Then this role may be just what you’re looking for!
A primary school in the Lower Darwen area of Lancashire are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant for January 2020. The job will involve providing general classroom support to Year 4 pupils in the mornings and planned intervention in years 2 and 3 in the afternoons.
Accordingly, successful candidates will have:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
- Recent experience of supporting children with lower level learning
- Recent experience of leading 1:1 and small group interventions
- Hard working, hands-on and willing to get stuck in to the position of general teaching assistant
- Friendly and will fit in well with the team of staff at the school
- Available full-time (8:30 – 15:30) from January 2020
As the school are pushing to boost attainment across KS1 and KS2, their aim for the next academic year is to implement a range of intervention groups in the afternoons to support lower attaining pupils in the core subjects. Knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum would be beneficial, as throughout the course of the year the children will be preparing for the end of key stage tests in reading, grammar and mathematics. It is possible that these interventions will also include providing support for children with special educational needs and therefore previous experience working alongside children with SEN would support you in this role. Synthetic Phonics; Read, Write Inc.; and No Nonsense Spelling are all schemes that the school follow.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
