Primary SEN Teaching Assistant- Central Manchester

Teaching Personnel have just been approached by our partner primary school close to Manchester city centre to recruit for a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant. This represents a fantastic opportunity for a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school and work with a SENCO who is passionate about developing her staff.

This Primary SEN Teaching Assistant role is required to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. There is also the possibility of a fixed-term contract being offered to the successful Primary SEN Teaching Assistant after the initial supply period (one term).

Job duties:

• To support pupils who have a range of special educational needs (mainly Asperger's and Autism).
• To be an assigned 'key-worker' for a small cohort of students and be responsible for their welfare and progress.
• To display empathy to their concerns and provide them with the pastoral support to help them achieve their potential.

Due to an unexpected gap arising with the support department of our partner school, the Special Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) wishes to source a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This role is to support identified pupils with SEN within classes. They are specifically seeking someone with experience of working with special needs especially Asperger's, Autism and Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

The school is situated on the outskirts of Manchester city centre offering easy access to the surrounding areas of Trafford and Hulme. There are also direct public transport links to the school.
