Primary SEN Teaching Assistant job - Plymouth

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a SEN school in Plymouth. The role is to start in September 2019 and will be until December 2019. It is to work on a 1:1 basis with primary aged children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as learning difficulties. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only.

Our school caters for primary aged pupils with social and emotional difficulties and learning difficulties who are not in mainstream education. Some children display challenging behaviour so this position would suit people who have core behaviour management skills.

The ideal candidate:

• Must have experience of working with pupils with SEMH difficulties or other SEND experience.
• Must have a NVQ Level 3 qualification in a child related subject or Health and Social Care.
• Has supported or written IEPs or other support plans.
• Will be able to communicate effectively with parents, carers and other multi-agency partners.
• Will have experience working with pupils who are secondary aged.
