Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

We are recruiting for Primary Teaching Assistants!

Are you a recent graduate of a childcare/education based qualification who is looking to begin their career in the classroom? Or an experienced teaching assistant looking for a more flexible role, or part-time hours? Or perhaps you are due to start a part-time course next year and are seeking flexible work within schools to fit around your studies and enhance your experience?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for teaching assistants with a range of experience to work across schools in Liskeard, Looe and Callington and other surrounding areas.

Here is what we can offer:

  • Your own personal online diary, meaning you can pick and choose which days each week you'd like to work
  • The opportunity to work in your most local primary schools and become part of the team
  • Introductions to schools who will be recruiting for permanent contracts
  • Complete control over which schools you work in and which age groups you support
  • Term-time holidays - just simply block your diary if you have whole weeks where you cannot work
  • GBP10 per hour for Teaching Assistants
  • Weekly pay

You will be suitable to work with us as a teaching assistant if:

  • You have a childcare or education based qualification (such as an NNEB, CACHE 2 or 3, Support Teaching and Learning degree, Foundation degree in Early Childhood Studies etc)
  • If you don't have relevant training or qualifications, you have supported children in a school, childcare or care setting
  • You may have relevant personal experience supporting special educational needs
  • You are a degree graduate who is hoping to begin teacher training but needs more school based experience
  • You worked with children a long time ago as a nanny, teacher, TA or care worker and are looking to get back into the classroom

We help thousands of teaching assistants across the UK to find either full-time positions in their local area or help them to have an excellent work life balance by offering flexible supply work. Cornwall is one of the busiest areas in the UK for supply work, meaning that many teaching assistants can gain 5 days per week of bank work for almost all of the academic year. Working with an agency has many benefits, with one of the biggest perks being that it builds you confidence and you always have a consultant working on your behalf to secure the best opportunities for you. Please take a look at Teaching Personnel Cornwall's google reviews to see some of our happy candidates who've found their dream roles through us.

If you're interested in working as a Teaching Assistant next academic year but don't know where to start, please email Poppy at poppy.pellow@teachingpersonnel.com

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
