After the first School closure, we saw a huge focus being placed on children’s wellbeing and emotional needs. Much more input was needed to help stabilise learning environment by delivering strategic support to children needing help with emotional wellbeing, behavioural support, nurture groups and friendship groups. We are looking for people to work in Primary Schools, to offer support on a 1-1, small group or whole class basis. The aim will be to negate the loss in confidence and social skills, be there for children to support anxiety and to reintroduce them into the learning environment. Teaching assistants and support workers have the ability to make a big difference to primary school children.
The perfect candidate for this position will have experience working with children, be that experience in schools or in a childminding capacity. We will consider other relevant experience and have found that sports coaches, counsellors or those with degrees in psychology are perfect for this type of work. Schools may at present be closed, but this is a perfect time to apply. We will aim to complete all of our vetting checks and referencing in time for school reopening- meaning you are ready to help from day 1.
Working with Teaching Personnel you will be a part of the nations largest education support agency, with the advantage of managing your work around your own commitments, working flexibly and to your own availability. Hours of work can vary, however we would want candidates who are able to work 3-5 days per week, around school opening times (typically 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday). We work with a number of Primary Schools needing Teaching Assistants across Selby and surrounding areas, so access to your own transport is preferable.
