Physics Teacher

Date posted : 29/10/19
£2.3k - 3k per month

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Our partner co-educational secondary school in the central Manchester area is looking to recruit a Physics specialist to join them in January. The successful Physicist is expected to be a qualified teacher of any experience level with applications accepted from newly qualified teachers to those more experienced at upper level. As an open vacancy, the successful teacher of Physics will be teaching a full time timetable for the remainder of the academic year with a possibility of securing a school based contract. This school is a large secondary school based on the outskirts of the city centre and a large science department. Whilst there isn’t an expectation to teach Biology and Chemistry, any experience of teaching either subject at KS3 would be of interest.

The successful Physicist is required to take up this position from Monday 6th January 2020.

Key aspects of this Physics teaching position:

  • Earn up to GBP3000 per month depending upon experience and payscale of the appointed Physics teacher
  • Full time Physics teaching position starting January 2020 – July 2020 in the first instance
  • Opportunity to secure a school based contract if interested
  • Planning and marking responsibilities expected as part of this Physics teaching role
  • Teach at this highly supportive, large co-educational secondary school under a successful, long standing Head of faculty

The head of science at this secondary school has been in position for a number of years and commended by Ofsted as supportive and having outstanding leadership qualities. It is with regret that the current Physics teacher is having to leave this position due to a personal relocation and has therefore left this vacant Physics position. They have given the school advance notice of their departure and so the successful Physics teacher will be required from Monday 6th January. You are expected to teach engaging lessons up to KS4, ensuring there are elements of theory and practical in line with the school’s examination board.

This co-educational secondary school is situated on the outskirts of the city centre making it very easy to access for any teacher travelling from Old Trafford, Stretford, Salford or the Trafford LEA. The school has a large car park on site as well as a new science wing which was created 2 academic years ago. The school is also easily accessible for any teacher travelling from the city centre given the public transport links to the school including bus, tram and regular trains.

If you are a Physics specialist available in January 2020 looking for your next teaching position, then apply now with your latest CV using the link. Please also include a short covering statement outlining your experience and relevant placements/school based experience.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
