Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Poole.

The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment for pupils with special educational needs, placing relationships, wellbeing, and individual progress at the heart of everything we do. About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other professionals to support pupils’ learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. You will help create a positive, structured learning environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and motivated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups

  • Assisting with classroom activities and learning programmes

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN

  • Contributing to a caring, inclusive school culture

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic

  • Has experience supporting children or adults with mental health difficulties or challenging behaviour
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs

  • Works well as part of a team

  • Is flexible, resilient, and committed to making a difference

  • Is available full time (Monday - Friday, term time only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
