PERMANENT Teaching Assistant

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

Are you looking for a permanent role in a school? Would you like a career in education and you have the transferable skills but no experience in this type of setting?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for several Teaching Assistants to work in a secondary school in Wakefield, WF1, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Special Educational Needs. The school caters to disadvantaged young people who have been excluded from mainstream education and now attend this Alternative Provision to access their learning. The right candidate will be resilient and engaging, willing to promote positive behaviour support and offer a nurturing environment for these students to feel safe in. The students tend to be from disadvantaged or Looked After backgrounds and it will be your role to help them overcome any barriers to their learning. Due to the nature and the needs of the students there will be an element of challenging behaviour and absconding so we are looking for someone who can be resilient to that.

If you have training or experience in any of the following then we encourage you to apply:

  • Outdoor Education
  • P.E
  • Sports
  • Psychology
  • Mental Health
