PERMANENT Inclusion Support Worker

A school in Scisset, Huddersfield (HD8) are currently looking for a number of Inclusion Support Workers to join their busy team. The role is full time and to start in November.

The school is an Alternative Provision that caters to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issue. All of the students have EHCP statements. They are very vulnerable and tend to come from disadvantaged backgrounds. There will be an element of challenging behaviour so you must have de-escalation training such as Team Teach or MAPA (we can provide this if you don't already have it).

The ideal candidate will have experience in an education setting or with people with mental health issues or Special Educational Needs. You must be resilient to the challenges tat you might face in this role and have a nurturing and non-judgemental approach.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• To provide practical support in helping the students reach their social, personal and academic targets
• To work 1:1 and with small groups of students
• Manage difficult conversations
• Help with the transition from different settings into the Provision through conciliatory skills and effective communication with SLT, families and staff
