PE Teacher- Wigan- Maternity cover

Teaching Personnel have been approached by an Ofsted graded GOOD secondary school within the Wigan borough to recruit for a PE Teacher. This is an exciting position for a PE Teacher to secure a progressive role within a high performing PE department.

Due to an upcoming planned absence within the PE department, the Senior Leadership team are looking to appoint an enthusiastic PE Teacher from after May half term until December initially. This position will involve the delivery of the PE curriculum to both Key Stages 3 & 4 and provides the incoming PE teacher to work with dedicated members of staff within the PE department.

  • Full time PE Teacher vacancy to cover a maternity leave
  • Teaching PE to KS3/4
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
  • "Students support each other through their good behaviour and attitudes to learning. The school is harmonious and friendly." (Ofsted)

Our partner school is an average sized secondary school with just over 950 pupils on roll. In their most recent Ofsted inspection they were graded GOOD on all criteria and have developed even further under a newly appointed Head teacher. This makes the school a popular choice within the local area which has fostered a strong level of respect for the teaching staff.

It is located in the Orrell area of Wigan making it a short drive away from both the town centre itself and the surrounding areas of Billinge and St Helens via Winstanley Road.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
