PE Teacher

A small Bolton based academy is seeking a full time Teacher of Physical Education (PE) with potential leadership opportunities available, from February 2020 or earlier.

-          Full time Teacher of PE commencing February 2020.

-          Leadership opportunity available due to an internal promotion.

-          Excellent location, Bolton is easily accessible via the M61 Motorway.

-          Must hold QTS to be considered alongside a relevant degree level qualification within PE, any previous experience with departmental responsibilities is highly advantageous.

-          Pay in line with MPS/UPS GBP24, 373 - GBP40, 490 (+ TLR) per annum.

The PE department has been allocated a newly reinstated sports block with access to fully equipped sports halls, an on site sports gym and astro turfs, all within modern facilities. As the successful Teacher of PE, you will be an outstanding practitioner with the enthusiasm and capacity to develop and provide dynamic teaching and learning. You must also have a clear vision of how to further improve the standards of PE and be able to lead and motivate pupils.

The incoming Teacher of PE will be required to lead a full time table of PE, planning, preparing and assessing all class work across KS3/4. It is also expected that the successful post-holder will partake in full departmental responsibilities and will be fully supported by the Head of Department throughout the post.

Located in the Farnworth region of Bolton, the academy currently serves just over 500 pupils aged 11-16 and has seen significant positive improvements, under the guidance of the newly restructured Senior Leadership Team. Bolton is easily accessible via the M61 motorway and the surrounding areas; Bury, Preston and Wigan. There are also numerous public transport options readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
