Physical Education Teacher

Burry Port - Pupil Referral Unit

Daily rate - £95-£110


The School

This school is an 11 - 18 Pupil Referral Unit that provides education for up to 50 pupils at a time. The school have expressed their need for a PE Teacher to join their PE department and would welcome applications from both Male & Female Teachers. The school are very proud of using PE and sport to engage some of the pupils who are disengaged from a mainstream curriculum.

The Role

As part of a strong PE department your main duties will include having full time responsibility of a timetable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 pupils who have a diagnosis of EBD and Mental Health Disorders, Including full teaching responsibilities planning and execution of lessons, marking, assessment, attending parents' evenings and pastoral responsibilities for a form class. The school will welcome those Teachers who can Coach school sports teams and offer expert advice from their own sporting background. Coaching and managing sports teams including fixture arrangement and also planning and delivering training sessions can benefit the right PE teachers with the passion to coach. In addition to teaching PE you may also occasionally be asked to cover other subject areas including humanities.

Requirements of the role:

  • Teacher applications welcome from all qualified Teachers including NQT's
  • The ability to teach mixed abilities of ages 11-19
  • Behaviour management skills are essential
  • Coaching experience in desirable in order to aid school sport
