Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Learning Mentor to provide support and assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs in a specialist setting in Huddersfield – addressing the needs of learners who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential.
You will be covering a variety of issues, including punctuality, absence, challenging behaviour and self esteem. You will be working either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups based on the pupils identified as needing support in the above areas.
You will have experience of working with children in education based or pastoral roles. You will be confident in managing pupil behaviour and be able to independently support pupils, dealing with a wide range of issues. You will be positive and approachable and will be willing to support a multi-disciplinary team of staff to re-engage pupils and support them in achieving personal goals; drawing up agreed action plans with learners, outlining the aims of the mentoring, monitoring and recording their progress as necessary.
To register with Teaching Personnel and apply for the above role, please contact Rebecca Holden on 0113 224 0234 or alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org
