If you have experience of supporting children or adults who have autism and are looking for a new challenge I would love to hear from you!

The school is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic member of staff who can either already use these methods of communication, or is willing to learn.

You will be covering on an ad hoc basis for absent colleagues at the school - this means you will get to work across different classes in the school and get to know the different students and staff. This work is flexible and you can choose when you want to work or how many days per week you want to work.

The following are essential to apply for this job:

  • A child workforce DBS registered on the update service, or be willing to complete a new one asap
  • References from your previous employers
  • Previous experience of supporting children or adults who have autism
  • Willingness to provide personal care for students who need assistance with toileting/changing
  • Can use or willing to learn PECs, Makaton and/or BSL
  • Education to at least A Levels, or an equivalent level 3 qualification

Teaching Personnel can offer a competitive pay rate and a pay as you earn pay scheme - this means we pay a national insurance and pension contribution for you. We will also support you in applying for a regular or even permanent position at this school, if this is what you are looking for. The school offers a full induction programme for new, regular staff members.

Other benefits include finishing at 15:30pm each day and only working during term time, so you will get all the school holidays off.
