Behaviour Support Assistant – Nurture – Large Trafford Based Primary School, M16.

• Supporting behaviour in Key Stage 2
• Working in a Nurture Class in Key Stage 2
• Teaching Assistant - Working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds and “Looked After Children”

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a client primary school in the Old Trafford, M16 area of Trafford, Manchester. Due to the needs of the children in the local community, this large “Good” primary school are looking to appoint a behaviour support assistant to work within their Key Stage 2 nurture group. The role of a Key Stage 2 Nurture group teaching assistant is a very rewarding one and would be to start after Easter.

Working closely with the SENCo and Assistant Head, a teaching assistant within this nurture group would be working closely with some specialist leaders for education and as a result, would gain specialist support and access to some skilled SEN teaching experience and strategies.

The Role:

• SEN Teaching Assistant

• Key Stage 2 Nurture Group

• Supporting “Looked After Children” and children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

• Nurture approach – understanding the needs of these children.

• Supporting Maths, English and other subjects on a 1:1 and small group basis.

• Full Time – Term Time Only

• Start after Easter

• £14,000 - £18,000 pro rata

Key Experiences required:

• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour

• Care Worker / Social Worker / Youth Worker background

• School based experience (not a necessity)

• Strategies for managing behaviour

• Ability to build relationships with challenging children

• Understanding of children with disadvantaged backgrounds.
