Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Are you an experienced Nursery Assistant with a passion for early childhood education? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team in Wellingborough. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young learners to thrive.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Learning: Collaborate with the lead teacher to deliver age-appropriate and stimulating activities that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Supervision: Provide attentive supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assessment: Assist in observing and assessing children's progress, maintaining records of their developmental milestones, and sharing insights with parents and the lead teacher.
- Individualized Care: Understand and cater to each child's unique needs, interests, and abilities, fostering a sense of belonging and self-confidence within the nursery setting.
- Classroom Setup: Assist in preparing the learning environment, including arranging materials, organizing play areas, and ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
- Behavior Management: Employ positive behavior management techniques to encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution among children.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, colleagues, and the lead teacher, sharing updates, concerns, and achievements related to the children's progress.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety protocols, ensuring that all children are appropriately supervised, and that the nursery environment remains clean and hazard-free.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest developments in early childhood education by participating in training sessions and workshops as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3, CACHE Diploma, Early Childhood Education degree) is preferred.
- Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment.
- Team Player: Strong collaborative skills, able to work effectively within a team of educators and support staff.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage parents, colleagues, and children effectively.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the nursery and its children, as well as the capacity to handle unexpected situations with poise.
- Initiative: Proactive and self-motivated, capable of taking initiative to enhance the learning experience for children.
