Position: Teacher – Performing Arts

Salary Range: MPS, suitable for NQT

Contract Type: Fixed Term initially of 1 year

Location: Portsmouth

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school in the Portsmouth area to recruit a teacher of performing arts for their academy school. This is an 11-16 school which ios based centrally making it excellent for those commuting by train, though the school does provide parking for those travelling in by car.

We are looking for a Teacher of Performing Arts who has the highest aspirations, passion and expertise to be able to provide the inspiring teaching that will continue the schools journey to bring positive change throughout the academy and in the Performing Arts department. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who has the ability to inspire, challenge and motivate to ensure that students are given the best opportunity to succeed, not only in the classroom but in life. The curriculum has undergone a transformation and current pupils in their final year have enjoyed their time within the subject and the school has recently had great progressive results from its recent mock examinations. Any applicants should be willing to contribute to the ideas within the department, looking to continually progress and inspire its pupils in the arts.

The Academy specialises in Performing Arts and have a supportive team in place to be able to successfully see a Newly Qualified Teacher through their first year of training.You will enjoy a diverse timetable incorporating both KS3 and KS4 whilst also taking on extra curricular activities within the school time to allow pupils to express their love of all areas of performing arts through school productions, concerts and showcases.

The Academy can offer an initial 1 year fixed term contract. The opportunity may be there at the end of the academic year. The school are looking to conduct online interviews over the coming weeks and so early interest and applications for this post are encouraged.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
