Night Care staff needed at a School/ residential home in Hook

This school in Bordon supports young people with autism and complex needs. They are looking for Night Care Workers who will inspire and guide their children and young people to achieve their personal best.

About the school:

This special school provides education and care for up to 30 students. Their students also live in houses of four or five children. They have three houses in their main building, three housing units located on the school site, and one house on the lane just beyond the school grounds. Their accommodation is designed to provide a varying living experience depending on the age and needs of the individual child. As a young person grows at this special school, their aim is to provide opportunities for greater independent living skills and our variety of houses reflect this.

All their young peoples have rooms of their own, with either en-suite bathrooms or closely located suites. The decoration of each room is linked to the wishes of the young person and their parents.

As a Night Care Worker, you will:

• Be responsible for effectively supporting the delivery of care and education to all young people within the children's home
•  Maintain the welfare, wellbeing and security of the children and young people through the night
• Work as a team to ensure the home is kept to a good standard in all aspects of housekeeping
• Proactively engaging with service users with a range of complex needs
• Establishing, maintaining professional relationships
• Providing a physically and emotionally safe environment, which is child friendly and homely
• Allowing children to form a sense of who they are through building confidence and self-worth
• Analysing and therapeutically managing challenging behaviour that is a result of complex needs
• Formulating plans to reduce the likelihood of future similar events
• Willingness to be involved with the general upkeep of the service including some housework and general duties

Due to some elements of the role, you need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
