About the School

Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Ferndale who are looking for a Music teacher to start immediately (subject to vetting). The school is looking for a dynamic and engaging music teacher with excellent classroom behavioural management skills.

This school is looking for a Music teacher to help drive and implement new standards across the department. You will be required to maintain the new positive changes towards behavioural ethos and pupil engagement which recent inspections have commended the school for.

Having previously been a school facing various challenges in the past, new rigorous leadership has ensured that standards across the school and all departments are vastly improving. A new governing body has ensured that the initial difficulties faced from the amalgamation of its two predecessor schools are now being effectively addressed.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a challenging environment and proven ability to help implement and maintain change and development.

About the role

Music teacher

Ages 11-16 (KS3-4)

5 days a week

Temporary role covering maternity with the possibility to take a permanent role

Creating varied and engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum

There will be an expectation to create lesson plans and mark the student's work, as well as working closely with students on a 'one to one basis.'

Location

Ferndale, South Wales

Requirements

A UK recognised teaching qualification (BA QTS, BSc QTS, CERT ED, PGCE)

Experience teaching Music at secondary school (from KS3-KS4)

A positive attitude with a close attention to detail.
