Moving and Handling Teaching Assistants required Easter start

Job description

There are multiple part time positions available for Moving and Handling Teaching Assistants who have experience working with with various needs. There are positions commencing immediately and running until the end of the academic year.

The role will involve working within a Special Needs School so it would be ideal for Teaching Assistants who have worked in the Care Sector and are looking for an opportunity to change career and work within a School Setting. Due to the nature of the specific needs of the pupils it would be ideal for Teaching Assistant to have experience with or be trained in moving and handling.

The School is a Secondary Special Needs School which currently has 75 pupils enrolled. The Setting caters for pupils with a wide range of needs including: moderate, severe or profound multiple learning difficulties. In its most recent 2016 inspection the School was graded as 'outstanding' by OFSTED. Due to the specific needs of the pupil the Teaching Assistant should have an understanding of how to cater for young people with various needs.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with individuals with SEN in any capacity
  • Experience working within a Care or Residential Sector
  • Experience working within a School environment (desirable)
  • Experience or knowledge of PEG feeding

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
