Maths graduate - Maths teaching assistant - Tameside

Maths Graduate – Maths Teaching Assistant Tameside

Have you completed your final year in your degree in Mathematics and looking to progress onto a teacher training programme from September 2017?

Our client school is looking to appoint a number of specialised Maths graduates to work directly in their Maths department as specific Maths teaching assistants, helping raise the attainment of pupils. The Head of Departments aim is for the successful Maths graduates to run revision classes and provide booster sessions in the lead up to examinations. A primary role will be providing general classroom support throughout KS3 and KS4 lessons alongside working directly with MLD pupils in small group settings as a Maths teaching assistant.

- Immediate start for qualified Maths graduates as Maths teaching assistants

- Receive pay of up to £65 a day

- Gain an insight into challenges and rewards faced in schools

- Increase your experience working within Mathematics lessons

- Full-time position for remainder of this academic year

Our client school is a mixed comprehensive in Tameside, which is smaller than the average secondary school with around 800 students currently on roll. The schools last published GCSE results were broadly in line with the national average with 53% students achieving 5 A*-C and the progress made in English and Mathematics is above the national expectancies from KS2 – KS4. The number of students who speak English as an Additional Language is below the national average, but the number of FSM students is above. The school is well led by senior leadership who have a clear and direct plan of continued improvement. The academy meets the government’s current floor standards, which are the minimum expectations for students’ attainment and progress.
