Maths Teacher- Wigan

Teaching Personnel have been approached by one of our client schools within the Wigan area to recruit for a Maths teacher on their behalf. This is a full time Maths teaching position required to start from April 2018.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maths teacher to join a successful and rapidly improving school which has a vibrant and forward thinking philosophy. There is a strong community spirit throughout and pupils take great pride in coming to the school.

  • Full time teaching position of Maths to Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
  • Supportive faculty leader and committed staff members with the Maths department.
  • Initially employed on a supply basis with the possibility of being offered a fixed-term/permanent.

The incoming Maths teacher will join a school that is improving year on year and recently received a national award for the progress made by all pupils and the outcomes it achieves for those considered to be disadvantaged. This has cultivated a very strong ethos from the current staff that every pupil should be given a chance to succeed and in turn, the pupils show high levels of respect to all staff.

The Maths department of our client school consists of a team of dedicated Maths teachers who strive to ensure progress is made all by all pupils regardless of their starting points and backgrounds. According to a recent Ofsted inspection, the pupils behave well but need teachers who are able to display strong effective behaviour management skills to counteract any apathy to learning.

The school is situated on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas.

The Senior Leadership team and the Head of Maths are looking to meet with interested candidates at the earliest possible convenience. Therefore for immediate consideration, please email your full CV to Paul via the link below. Alternatively, please call the Manchester West Secondary branch for further information.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
