Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a large secondary school in Welwyn Garden City. In September the school will become part of an academy trust and they are looking for an enthusiastic Maths teacher to join them on a full time basis.
The school has extensive facilities with a brand new purpose built sports centre currently in the final stages of its development. In their most recent OFSTED inspection their strengths were commented on in the following areas;
The headteacher and his senior team have an accurate understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the school and this has informed clear, coherent development planning focused on sustained improvement.
Teaching is now improving because under performance is being addressed and professional development enhanced.
Pupils benefit from the extremely high-quality guidance, support and care provided by the school, and this supports their very positive personal development.
Provision for sixth-form students is strong and they make good progress as a result.
The school follow the OCR exam board for maths and are a department currently of eight. The KS3 lead is going on maternity at the start of July so the school are keen to replace for a years contract from September. This is a temporary contract with the opportunity for a permanent position due to the school expanding in the 2019/20 academic year as the the year 7 intake will be growing with the status of the academy.
The right candidate will;
- have QTS status (NQTS may also apply) or a UK recognised equivalent
- have knowledge of the curriculum to KS4 however KS5 is advantageous
- be an effective team player and willing to get involved with extra curricular activities
- have a passion for learning and teaching
- are able to develop exciting and innovative learning styles
- are willing to contribute to school improvement
