Maths Teaching position

September start

1 years fixed term contract

Experienced practitioner preffered

Our partner school is looking to appoint a Teacher to join their Maths faculty in the new academic year. Owing to an internal promotion the school are looking to replcae an experienced practitioner and are looking to appoint for a 1 year fixed term contract. At the end of this, the position can then be permanent is this is your preference.

 

Qualification Criteria

·       UK QTS or equivalent 

·       Degree in English or related subject

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

·       Be committed toraising the attainment of pupils

·       Excellent subject knowledge and general teaching pedagogy

·       Be or demonstrate the potential to become an outstanding teacher

·       Enthusiasm for your subject

·       Effective behaviour management 

 


The school specialise in STEM and have existing relationships with local and national charities to create projects for pupils to participate in to gain interest and greater depth knowledge in the STEM subjects. The Maths department is well established with a vairety of teachers including experiences practitioners, overseas trained teachers and those just beginning in their career. the department is overseen by SLT who are supportive of the staff and the general feedback from teachers placed within the school is that induction is throughough and staff are quickly made to feel part of the school, community and the larger Academy trust of which it belongs.

 

The location of this school make it ideal for any form of commuting. They provide parking for staff travelling by car but there are both bus stations and a large train station within a few minutes from the schools site. It is also possible to commmute from the Isle of Wight by foot and those travelling from the Gosport Ferry are also able to make the journey with ease.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
