Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

Start dates: April 2019 & September 2019

Flexible hours: Full & Part time

Then Teaching Personnel have the perfect role for you. A secondary school in Preston are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to Tutor and support pupils in lower and higher ability Maths lessons. The school is located in the leafy suburbs and has great public transport links for those who do not drive.

The role will begin as a flexible and ad-hoc basis. From then, if you get on well in school, then you will potentially secure yourself a long-term role, or even a permanent contact!

The Role:

  • Leading small groups in academic interventions (in your specialist subject)
  • Providing 1-1 support to students in full class settings
  • Providing mentoring and emotional support to students who may be finding school challenging
  • Providing support to students with a range of special educational needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Dyslexia as well as physical disabilities
  • On occasion, stepping in and covering full classes in the absence of their permanent teacher

We are particularly interested in candidates with the following attributes:

  • A Degree in Mathematics
  • It is not essential but it is desirable that you have had some form of recent experience of working with young people
  • It is also advantageous to your application if you can demonstrate an interest in building a career in education
