Male PE Teacher

A school in Leyland is looking for a PE Teacher to join the team on a temporary basis. The role will involve the delivery of high quality sessions, across a broad range of ages. It is essential that as this is a specialist role, that the given individual holds QTS. A degree in a Sport related subject is very desirable.

Additional qualifications in the teaching of specific sports, or prior experience in coaching is also important. It is crucial that the individual is able to effectively deliver the school’s curriculum, whilst being able to independently implement their own strategies and methods to allow students to thrive within the subject. It is vital that the candidate is able to consistently manage behaviour expectations, as well as working in line with recommendations made by Ofsted.

The given applicant will be able to work well within a team environment, and will be motivated and enthusiastic within their approach. The required candidate will try and instil a culture that is driven by the benefits of health, exercise and fitness. Being able to display resilience and patience within this role is crucial – naturally, not all students will be as engaged as some.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Competence in the delivery lessons across a wide range of Sports, as well as managing several teams, potentially competing against other schools.
• Monitoring attendance, as well as being attentive in ensuring that students have the correct equipment needed to participate in a PE session.
• Engaging with students across a wide range of ages, abilities and backgrounds.
• Pay between GBP24,373 and GBP40,490 dependant on prior experience.
• May 2021 - October 2021 
• Full time
