Makaton Specialist

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a small partnership primary school in Malton who require someone to support with Makaton as and when the need arises. The primary school is small, but do require this need every so often. To cover both short term sickness and longer term cover as the need arises.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will have knowledge of Makaton and will be able to effectively support this with this role. You should be able to effectively work with an individual pupil in order for them to communication effectively and for them to have understand the requirements of the day.

The successful candidate will;

  • Be able to demonstrate their knowledge of Makaton
  • Be able to effectively support a pupil within the education setting
  • Have flexible availability to support the school quickly

Having access to your own transport is desirable to this role, opening you up to more job opportunities but isnt essential in order to work with Teaching Personnel or in this role.
